News India Live, Digital Desk: Nitish government has opened a box of big relief for entrepreneurs and educationists who dream of investing in the education sector in Bihar. With the intention of taking ‘Ease of Doing Business’ to new heights in the state, the government has decided to give huge relaxation in the conditions for opening private schools. This decision will have a direct impact on the education system of the state, which will provide better educational options to children and will make investment avenues easier for the private sector.
Industry department gets command, rules will be changed
Bihar government is completely serious about implementing this new scheme on the ground. This is the reason that this time along with the education department, the industry department has also been given a big responsibility. The Industries Department has been made the nodal department for this entire process. At the same time, the Education Department has intensified its preparations by appointing the Special Director of Secondary Education as the nodal officer. Soon, major amendments will be made in the existing rules of private school operation, so that school managers can be freed from the legal hurdles in land acquisition and mobilization of resources.
There will be a big relaxation in the requirement of land
At present, getting recognition of a school from CBSE or ICSE board in Bihar is no less than a difficult task. As per the rules till now, it is mandatory for a CBSE school to have at least one acre of land and for ICSE, it is mandatory to have 50 decimals of land. The government is now considering relaxing these stringent standards. It is believed that this land requirement will be reduced in the new policy, so that quality schools can be opened even in less space.
The hassle of NOC renewal will end
The biggest headache for private school operators was the renewal of No Objection Certificate (NOC) every three years. Understanding this compulsion of making rounds of the Education Department, the government will now either make the renewal process completely simple or will extend its deadline significantly. The government’s vision is clear that by encouraging the private sector, more and more schools should be opened in the state, which will not only raise the level of education but will also create thousands of new employment opportunities for the local youth.
