What do experts say about drinking energy drinks?
According to experts, drinking energy drinks has become a trend. It has gained a lot of popularity in the last few years. It is true that drinking it provides instant energy. But it should be used properly. In general, 31% of 12-17 year olds consume energy drinks regularly. However, according to a report published by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2011, children or teens should not consume energy drinks. The argument is that the caffeine present in energy drinks can make children and teenagers addicted to it. According to experts, teens cannot consume more than 100 mg of caffeine per day and children can consume less than 1.14 mg of caffeine per pound of their body weight per day.
Energy drinks are meant to increase your focus and concentration, but they are full of caffeine and sugar. Therefore, consuming it in excessive amounts can have adverse effects on health. Experts recommend limiting energy drink intake and eating nutritious foods and getting enough sleep to increase focus and energy levels.
