The incident has shocked the entire city and a wave of mourning has raged especially in the Bangladeshi-American community, as Didarul was a dedicated immigrant of Bangladeshi origin.

The Commissioner Kabb also expressed deep condolences to him and said that another officer was also shot, but he survived.
