Now the voice of women’s hard work will echo in Delhi even at night, the government has given permission for night shift, but with these conditions

There is a big and progressive news for the working women of Delhi. Now women of the capital will also be able to work in night shifts in shops and business establishments as per their wish. By taking this important decision, the Delhi government has not only opened new avenues of employment for women, but has also kept their safety and rights at the top.

Work is as per your wish, security is guaranteed by the government

The government has made it clear that no woman will be forced to work in night shifts. Some strict rules have been made for this:

• Written consent mandatory: Before hiring any woman for night shift, the employer must take written consent from her.
• Safe Transport: Whichever institution will call women for night shift, it will have to arrange for safe transportation (cab etc.) from home to office and from office to home.
• Complete Security: It will be mandatory to install adequate security guards and CCTV cameras at the workplace. The footage of these cameras will have to be kept safe for at least one month.
• Committee for Complaints: It will be necessary to constitute an Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) in every office, so that any complaint of sexual harassment occurring at the workplace can be resolved immediately.

Now slavery of more than 9 hours will end, you will get double money

These new rules have brought relief not only for women but for every employee of Delhi:

• Fixed working hours: Now no employee will be made to work for more than 48 hours in a week and 9 hours in a day.
• Double overtime pay: If an employee works more than 9 hours, he will have to be paid double his normal salary.
• Not working continuously: No employee can be made to work for more than 5 hours continuously. It will be mandatory to give a break after every 5 hours.
• If you work on holidays, you will get extra leave: If an employee is called to work on a national holiday, he or she must be granted compensatory leave (additional leave) in return.

This proposal was approved by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena had also given approval earlier this year, after which now the Labor Department has issued a notification to implement it. This step is being considered a major decision towards taking Delhi towards a safe and modern work culture.
