The politics of Bengal has been in turmoil since these MPs, who reached Parliament on the ticket of Mamata Banerjee’s party during the Lok Sabha elections, changed sides, and this meeting is being considered very important in terms of new political equations in the NDA camp.

Political tussle before Lok Sabha Speaker’s decision

Let us tell you that these 20 MPs, who won the Lok Sabha elections on Trinamool Congress ticket, later rebelled and changed sides and now this new party has become a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre. However, this new political defection has not yet been officially recognized by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, due to which there is huge resentment in the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool camp. Terming this entire process illegal, the TMC leadership from Kolkata to Delhi has raised a strong demand before the Speaker of the Lok Sabha to immediately cancel the membership of all these rebel MPs, but no final decision has yet come from the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
