The state government has decided that now in big cities like Patna, Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur Sudha Booths But goat milk will also be sold. This step will not only provide a healthy option to the general public, but will also significantly increase the income of people involved in goat farming in rural areas.

Main points of the proposal prepared by the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department:

initial phase: First of all it will be launched at major Sudha counters of Patna. After this, it will be expanded to cities like Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Darbhanga and Purnia.

Sale of goat meat: The government will make arrangements for the sale of not only milk but also goat meat in a hygienic manner through municipal corporations.

Formation of GOAT Federation: A ‘Goat Federation’ will be formed at the state level and ‘Goat Specialists’ will be deployed in every district, who will be given special training at the Central Goat Research Institute, Mathura.

For BPL families: Families living below the poverty line are being given 3 breeding goats, on which 80 to 90 percent subsidy Is being given.

Number of goats: At present there are about 1.28 crore goats in Bihar, and Bihar ranks fourth in the country in this matter.

Breed Improvement: Approval has been given to establish a ‘Goat Semen Bank’ in Gaya, which will help in improving the breed of goats and reducing the mortality rate of lambs.
