Nobel Prize is not in my hands, Norway’s PM finally told the truth on Trump’s wish.

News India Live, Digital Desk: Donald Trump’s statements have their own fan following and discussion all over the world. Trump is often heard saying that he should get the ‘Nobel Peace Prize’ for maintaining peace in the world. But is it really that easy? Can any government or Prime Minister just wish and someone gets this big honour?

Answering this question, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has recently said some things which have put an end to this entire matter.

The wall between misunderstanding and reality
What happened was that amid Trump’s claims and the expectations of his supporters, the Norwegian PM clearly said, “Brother, this is not in our hands.” In fact, many people in the world feel that since the Nobel Peace Prize is given in Norway’s capital Oslo, the Norwegian government must decide who will be the winner.

But PM Modi clarified that the ‘Nobel Committee’ is completely independent. The government has nothing to do with him nor can the government impose its decisions on him.

Trump’s argument and old memories
Let us remind you that Donald Trump has often described himself as deserving of this award by mentioning the Abraham Agreement (peace agreement in the Middle East) and other foreign policy achievements. Many times he also taunts by taking Obama’s name that if he (Obama) can get it, then why can’t I?

Prime Minister’s Diplomacy
The Prime Minister of Norway expressed his views very wisely. He neither made any sharp comment on Trump’s claims nor made fun of them. He simply reminded of the law and process. This shows how important the independence of institutions is at the international level. No matter who is in power, the rules are the same for everyone.
