India suffered the biggest wound in the Gulf War without even fighting, more Indian citizens died than Israel-America; Know the scary statistics

More Indian citizens have lost their lives in the Iran war than Israel and superpower America. This very shocking and painful reality has come to light when India is not involved in any way in this destructive war. On Monday (June 22, 2026), 12 Indian workers were killed in a horrific attack on Ras Laffan in Qatar, after which the total number of innocent Indians who died due to this war has reached 25. At the same time, if we talk about the countries directly involved in the war, so far 13 citizens of America and 24 citizens of Israel have been killed in this war. The horrors of this war can be gauged from the fact that so far 4 thousand people from Lebanon and 3600 from Iran have been killed due to Israeli attacks.

This Gulf War started on 28 February this year. Iran has suffered huge setbacks in these few months of war. Top leaders from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) chief Mohammad Pakpur and Iran Supreme Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani have been murdered in this war.

When and where how many Indians lost their lives?

Apart from the death of 12 Indians in the latest attack in Ras Laffan, Qatar, 6 Indian citizens have also been killed in the Strait of Hormuz. Three Indian citizens were killed in an American attack in Hormuz, on which the Indian government had expressed strong displeasure against America. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had called the US Secretary of State and registered his strong protest and protest on this. Apart from this, an Indian was killed in another attack in Qatar recently, while an Indian was killed during the Iranian attack in Kuwait. Indian citizens have also become victims of this war in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Including all this, a total of 25 Indian citizens have died so far.

Why were more Indians killed in the war than Israel and America?

There are three main and fundamental reasons behind the death of such a large number of Indians without any hostility and without taking part in the war:

  • Indiscriminate attacks on Kuwait and UAE and Israeli bunkers: During this war, Iran has targeted the areas of Kuwait and UAE more than Israel. Iran had carried out some major attacks on Israel only in the beginning, in which some Israeli civilians were killed. Immediately after this, Israel shifted all its citizens to very secure underground bunkers, due to which Iran was not able to cause much harm to Israeli citizens. On the other hand, the far-sighted America had withdrawn its citizens from the Gulf countries as soon as there were signs of war breaking out, hence only American soldiers have suffered casualties in the war.

  • Huge number of migrants in Gulf countries: The population of people of Indian origin in the Gulf countries is very large. According to statistics, about 27 lakh Indians live in Saudi Arabia and 43 lakh Indians live in UAE. Similarly, 10 lakh NRIs are employed in Kuwait and 8 lakh NRIs are employed in Qatar. Qatar’s Ras Laffan, where the attack took place on Monday, is a large industrial area and employs a large number of Indian laborers and engineers, who were directly hit by the attack.

  • Indian crew members on ships stranded in Hormuz: Most of the workers and sailors working in the merchant ships stranded in the Gulf of Hormuz are Indians. According to recent data, more than 18 thousand Indian workers are present on about 550 ships stuck in this danger zone. Whenever there are air or missile attacks on these ships, the Indians stationed there get hit.

Who is ultimately responsible for these deaths of innocent Indians?

More than half of the total Indians killed in this Gulf War were directly caused by Iran’s missile and drone attacks. At the same time, 3 Indians died in the attack by the American army. Earlier this month, the US had targeted a suspected commercial ship with Indians on board trying to cross the blockade of Hormuz. On the contrary, the Indians who were killed in the residential and industrial areas of Ras Laffan, Kuwait and Qatar were victims of Iranian attacks. However, amid global pressure, both the countries (America and Iran) have clarified that these deaths have occurred due to being in an active war zone, that is, no Indian has been killed intentionally or targeted.
