Nitish Cabinet Approves 9970 Croes, Will be Built on Ham Model

News India Live, Digital Desk: The Nitish cabinet has taken a historic decision to promote infrastructure of Bihar and improve connectivity. In the meeting held on Tuesday, the construction of a grand path (Ganga Expressway) parallel to the Ganges river between Bhagalpur and Munger districts has been approved. The project will completely change connectivity in the eastern part of the state and will be completed at an estimated cost of about Rs 9970.61 crore.

This ambitious project will be developed under the ‘Hybrid Anuity Model’ (HAM model), which is an effective way to accelerate Indian road projects. In the HAM model, both government and private developers invest, and a part of the construction is borne by the government and by the rest of the developer. Then, the developer gets a return in the form of fixed annual payment (annuT), increasing the possibility of quality and timely completion in the project. This project will not only lead to connecting two cities, but its economic and social impacts will also be quite widespread.

Under the scheme, this path will be built between Bhagalpur and Munger districts on the right bank of the Ganges river in Bihar. After its completion, not only the travel time between these two cities will be reduced considerably, but it will also speed up the economic activities of both regions. Especially farmers and traders will directly benefit from this, as the transport of agricultural produce and other items will be easier and faster, which will save both time and cost.

The project has been aimed at accelerating the state’s economic growth pace and attracting investment. Improvement in road connectivity can also promote tourism and create new business opportunities. Getting such a large amount of approval by the Nitish cabinet also shows how serious the state government is about its infrastructure projects and is working towards long -term development. This path, which is built on the banks of the river Ganges, will not only facilitate traffic, but will also pay attention to the beauty and ecology of the region, which can prove to be a model infrastructure project.
