Lucknow. Such a ‘Ganga’ of development is going to flow in Uttar Pradesh, which will not only increase the pace of the state, but will also completely change the face of its economy. Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority (YUPIDA) has prepared such a mega plan regarding Ganga Expressway, after which it would be wrong to call it just a road. This expressway is going to emerge as the ‘New Noida’ in the coming times, where along with the speed, the thrill of high-speed rail and the modern industrial hub will come together.

Sectors will be settled on the lines of Noida, Hardoi will become industrial hub from Meerut.

UPEDA plans to develop the areas along the Ganga Expressway on the lines of Delhi-NCR.

New Urban Model: Just as industrial, residential and commercial zones have been created by dividing Noida into different sectors, the same model will now be implemented between Prayagraj and Meerut.

Industrial Corridor: The stretch between Meerut to Hardoi is being specially prepared as an industrial hub. For this, land acquisition work has been expedited.

modern conveniences: High-rise buildings, luxurious shopping malls and modern residential townships will be developed along the expressway, which will prove to be an excellent alternative to the congested areas of Delhi and Ghaziabad.

‘Maha-web’ of high-speed rail and connectivity

The biggest feature of this project is its multi-modal connectivity.

Rail Connectivity: The expressway will be linked with the proposed high-speed rail corridor in Meerut, which will increase the travel speed manifold.

Link Expressway: A 91 km long link expressway is being built, which will connect the Ganga Expressway near Etawah with the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

Promotion of religious tourism: With this connectivity, the journey will become very easy and fast for the devotees traveling to religious places like Haridwar, Mathura, Prayagraj and Varanasi.

The fortunes of these 12 districts of UP will shine

The Ganga Expressway will pass through 12 main districts of Uttar Pradesh, which will form the ‘backbone’ of the state’s economy:

Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.

According to UPEDA officials, the construction of an industrial corridor along the expressway will create lakhs of employment opportunities for the local youth. This project will play the most important role in achieving the target of 1 trillion dollar economy of Uttar Pradesh.
