The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued important guidelines regarding the 10th and 12th board exams 2025. The board has issued new rules for the smooth and fair operation of this examination starting from 15 February 2025. Also, schools have been instructed to inform the students before the examination.
Compulsory guidelines for conducting examination
CBSE has clarified in the notification that it is necessary to ensure fair examination keeping in mind the educational interests of the students. For this, the board has issued the “unfair means” (UFM). It is mandatory to inform all the students and concerned officers in the examination about these rules.
Guidelines required from schools
- Understand and share inappropriate instruments:
Schools will have to explain the provisions of “UFM guidelines” and the provisions of punishment associated with them properly to the students and their parents. - Give information to students:
Make students aware of the results of examination rules, restricted goods, and inappropriate actions. Also teach them not to avoid rumors and do not become part of them. - Include parents:
Parents are also required to inform the examination rules and the provisions of punishment, so that they can motivate their children to follow them. - Remind on exam day:
Remind students to ensure that they do not bring any restricted objects together before entering the examination center. - Train exam officers:
The officers and employees posted in the examination should also be given complete information about these rules.
CCTV monitoring and stopping electronic devices
CBSE has made CCTV system mandatory for monitoring examination centers. CCTV footage in the examination hall will be monitored by Assistant Superintendent. It is strictly prohibited to bring electronic equipment like mobile phones, smart watch, Bluetooth etc. in the examination center. Their use will be considered an inappropriate means and punitive action will be taken.
Following dress code mandatory
CBSE has also released the dress code for the exam:
- For regular students: School uniform compulsory.
- For private students: Light and simple clothes.
Objects allowed to be taken to examination
Students are allowed to carry only the following items in the exam:
- Admit Card and ID Card:
School identity card for regular students and any government photo identity proof for private students. - Stationery Items:
Transparent pouch, geometry box, blue/royal blue pen, writing pad, eraser, scale. - other items:
Analog clock, transparent water bottle, metro card, just pass, money.
Banned goods in examination
The following items are strictly banned in the exam:
- Stationery Items:
Text material (printed/written), calculator (permission only special students), pen drive, electronic pen. - Communication Device:
Mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphones, smart watch, microphone, health band. - Other items:
Wallet, goggles, handbags, pouches.
The use of these items will be considered an inappropriate means and strict action will be taken under CBSE rules.
