Negotiating was our strategic mistake, Iranian MP Nabavian attacks his own government:

News India Live, Digital Desk: Despite the ceasefire between America and Israel, peace in West Asia still seems far away. The dual blockade of America and Iran on the Strait of Hormuz has put global trade and diplomacy in crisis. Meanwhile, as the secret Iran-America meeting held in Pakistan remained inconclusive, voices of rebellion have started rising within Iran. Mahmoud Nabavian, an influential member of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, has made a scathing attack on his own government, calling this conversation a ‘big mistake’.

“The enemy’s courage increased”: Nabavian’s strong attack

Iranian MP Mahmoud Nabavian, while speaking to the media in Tehran, said that discussing the nuclear issue with the US on Pakistani soil was a ‘strategic blunder’. He said in harsh words, “We should never have put our nuclear program on the negotiating table. By doing so we gave a message to the enemy that we are under pressure, which further emboldened them.” Nabavian revealed that the US had demanded that Iran completely remove 60% of its enriched uranium and freeze it for the next 20 years, which Iran flatly rejected.

Trump’s warning: “Iran has no time left”

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump, in his familiar style, cornered Iran and said that he is in no hurry with this deal. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, “I have all the time in the world, but Iran doesn’t have it. Their Navy is sleeping in the depths of the ocean, their Air Force is almost destroyed and their radar systems are destroyed. They don’t even have any effective leadership left.” Trump made it clear that time is running out for Iran and if he does not make a ‘deal’ soon, things will get worse for them.

‘Dismemberment’ by conventional attacks only, no need for nuclear weapons

In response to a question at the White House, Trump also made it clear that there is no plan to use nuclear weapons in the conflict against Iran. He said, “Iran has been caused so much damage by our conventional strikes that there is no point in deploying nuclear weapons anymore.” Trump was referring to attacks on Iran’s military bases and infrastructure in recent months, which have seriously damaged Iran’s defense system.

Hormuz siege: The world held its breath

Meanwhile, the fear of a rise in crude oil prices has increased due to the face-off between the navies of the two countries on the Strait of Hormuz. Strategic experts believe that if the next round of talks does not start soon, this blockade could turn into a major maritime conflict. The pressure from Iran’s fundamentalists is now increasing on the government of President Ebrahim Raisi to further accelerate its nuclear program instead of bowing down to America.
