Naxalites have committed major crimes in Bijapur area of Chhattisgarh. On Monday, Naxalites blew up an armored vehicle of soldiers on Kutru Road. There is news of more than 08 soldiers being martyred in the blast. At present there has been no official confirmation of the Naxalite attack. On Sunday, soldiers conducted a major operation in Abujamad area. After searching the area, the force was returning towards its camp. Bolero pickup vehicle was sent to take back the soldiers. This vehicle was targeted by the Naxalites.
According to the latest information, Naxalites had laid landmines in Kutru Canal. There is also news of about 5 soldiers being injured.
Naxalites carried out this attack on Kutru-Bedar Road in Bijapur district when the Joint Operation Party of Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur was returning after an operation. At 2:15 pm, Naxalites blew up a security force vehicle by detonating an IED near Ambeli village of Kutru police station area.
IG Bastar’s statement
According to IG Bastar, Naxalites blew up security forces vehicles with IED blast in Bijapur. In this attack, nine soldiers including eight DRG jawans and one driver of Dantewada were martyred. The security forces were returning from joint operations in Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur.

On Bijapur IED blast, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Raman Singh said that whenever major operations are conducted against Naxalites, they do such cowardly acts. Chhattisgarh government’s steps against Naxalism will become more rapid. The government has nothing to fear or fear. Strict action will continue against them.
