Mumbai – A five -year -old child slipped into the valley on the Jain pilgrimage site Mangitungi mountain in Nashik. His mother also fell in the ditch to save him, killing both the mother and son.

Mangitungi Parvat is famous for the statue of Jain Rishabhdev, the world’s tallest 108 feet tall. Therefore, thousands of people come to this Jain pilgrimage site. Similarly, according to Jayakheda police, on Tuesday, Pawara, a resident of Abom of Kalvan, came to visit Mangitungi with his wife Geeta and two children.

Around four o’clock in the evening, they were climbing the stairs of the mountain to see. When the stairs were flooded, five -year -old Rajveer Pawar took off his shoes and started walking barefoot on the protective wall near the stairs.

While walking, his leg slipped and he fell. Seeing this incident, his mother Geeta Pawara ran to save her child. However, both fell into the valley in this incident. In which both Geeta and the child suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.

After this incident, Aboman and his elder son, who had climbed the stairs and came forward, came to know when the people present there started shouting. After this, Abom ran to save his wife and child. However, it was too late by then. After this, the bodies of both were recovered from the valley late at night.

The police have registered a case of accidental death and are further investigating the case.
