The wait for the South-West Monsoon in the country is finally over and it has made its strong presence felt in Kerala. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), after hitting Kerala, the monsoon is now moving very fast towards the areas of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Meteorologists estimate that within the next two to three days, monsoon clouds will completely cover Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh and many states of the Northeast. But along with this relief from monsoon, the Meteorological Department has also issued a serious warning (Yellow/Orange Alert) of severe storm, storm and heavy rain in 18 states of the country today i.e. on 5th June.

Weather of next 7 days: Heavy rain at some places and double attack of heat wave at some places.

According to the latest report of the Meteorological Department, the next few days are going to be very sensitive for different parts of the country. On one hand, there will be heavy clouds and rain in South and North-East India, while on the other hand, there will be thunderstorms in North-West and Central India.

  • Condition of South India: There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at some places in Kerala and Karnataka during the next 7 days. There are chances of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu also. In view of bad weather, fishermen till 9th ​​June Strict advice has been given not to go to the coastal areas of Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

  • North-East India: Torrential rains will continue for the next 5 to 6 days in the seven sister states including Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

  • Heatwave alert: People of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar need to be careful amid this upheaval in the weather. The Meteorological Department has warned that the havoc of heat wave may be seen once again in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between June 7 to 10 and in Western Uttar Pradesh between June 8 to 10.

1. Fear of stormy rain in Delhi

There will be clouds throughout the day in the capital Delhi today. A good spell of rain with strong thunderstorms can be seen between morning and afternoon. During this period, there is also a possibility of a dust storm, in which the wind speed can reach 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. After this, Saturday (June 6) will also be partly cloudy, due to which the temperature may drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius from normal.

2. Thunderstorm and showers in Uttar Pradesh

The weather is going to change today in both western and eastern parts of UP. There is every possibility of dust storm and rain with thunder and lightning in districts like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur including Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Agra, Noida and Ghaziabad today. There is an alert of worsening weather with strong winds (50-60 km/hr) especially in western UP on Friday.

3. Tornado warning in Bihar and Rajasthan

  • Bihar: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of sudden thunderstorm in districts like Banka, Jamui, Munger and Bhagalpur of the state. People living here have been advised to avoid lightning (Vajrapat).

  • Rajasthan: There may be light rain with thunderstorm in big districts of Marudhara like Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Kota, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Barmer today. During this period the wind speed is expected to be 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.

4. Fear of hailstorm in hilly states (Himachal and Uttarakhand)

There is an alert of rain and hailstorm in Shimla, Manali, Kullu and Kangra of Himachal Pradesh today.
