Bay leaf will protect pulses and flour from weevils

During rainy days, moisture enters the flour and various types of pulses very quickly, due to which there is a fear of small insects getting into them. To deal with this problem, put 3 to 4 dry bay leaves in your storage container or box. The natural aroma of bay leaves keeps away insects and helps in maintaining freshness in the grains for a longer period.

Unique way to keep rice safe from insects

Due to moisture in rice, small black insects (caterpillars) often get involved. To avoid this, put some dry red chillies in the rice container. Along with this, keeping some matchsticks is also considered very effective, because the sulfur present in matchsticks does not allow insects to flourish. However, take care that the matchsticks do not come in direct contact with the rice (keep them wrapped in small paper) and keep them out of the reach of children.

Rice bundle will protect salt, sugar and coffee from dampness

During rainy season, salt and coffee release water and sugar starts sticking together. The best solution to this problem is to tie some raw rice in a clean cotton or muslin cloth and make a small bundle. Keep this bundle in a jar of salt, sugar or coffee. Rice naturally absorbs excess moisture from inside the container, keeping the items dry and fresh.

Hack to maintain the crispiness of biscuits and cookies

As soon as air is exposed, biscuits and cookies get sealed and lose their crispness. To keep them crispy for a long time, always use an airtight container and put a few grains of sugar in the bottom or middle of the container. The sugar granules absorb extra moisture, keeping the biscuits fresh.

Cloves will save sugar from terror of ants

Ants in sugar bins are a common problem during the rainy season. The easiest way to keep ants away from sugar is to put 4 to 5 whole cloves in the box. The strong and pungent smell of cloves is completely unbearable for ants, due to which they do not come near the box and your sugar remains safe.
