Make traditional Gujarati dish Doodh Pak at home during fast, note down the recipe


Ingredients for Making Milk Crop

  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 tbsp sama rice
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • a little saffron
  • Half bowl finely chopped dry fruits

Method of making milk crop

  • To make Dudhpak, first wash the same rice with clean water and drain the water. – Now mix ghee well in the same rice and keep it aside.
  • – Mix saffron in 2-3 spoons of milk and keep aside.
  • – Now keep the milk boiling on medium flame, when the milk becomes thick then add ghee in it and cook.
  • – Cook rice and milk on medium flame while stirring continuously.
  • Also add dry fruits, saffron and cardamom powder and mix.
  • Cook it while stirring for 30-40 minutes and when it is cooked well, turn off the flame and let it cool down.
  • When the Milk Pak cools down, take it out in a bowl and serve garnished with dry fruits and rose petals.

Follow these tips while making Doodhpak

  • To make the milk creamy, use full cream milk.
  • The slower you cook Milk Pak, the better the taste.
  • Condensed milk can be used for better taste.
