Major Revelation by Prashant Kishor’s Former Employee: Flattery and Poor Management Prevailed in the Team Major Revelation by Prashant Kishor’s former employee, flattery and poor management prevailed in the team

The performance of Prashant Kishore (PK)’s ‘Jan Suraj’ party in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 was extremely disappointing, contrary to expectations. Even the party’s account could not be opened. Now internal analysis has started on the reasons for this defeat. Afzal Alam, a former employee of PK’s team, has written a detailed post on social media and listed 9 main reasons for Jan Suraj’s defeat.

Afzal Alam, who was part of the digital communication team from April 2024 to August 2025, has raised serious questions on the party’s election management and working style.

9 big reasons for Jan Suraj’s defeat

According to Afzal Alam, it was the flaws within the party that kept it from victory:

  1. Ignoring young talent and opinions: Prashant Kishore prepared the entire strategy himself. The young members of the team were kept as mere ‘followers of orders’, leaving no room for creative ideas.

  2. Wrong Team Management (Role Mismatch): Ignoring the expertise of the members, they were assigned arbitrary departments, which led to huge wastage of resources and time.

  3. Excessive and unnecessary workload: The team was forced to hold meetings and data entry late into the night after a long day of field work, which drained the energy of the field team.

  4. Insecurity and flattery in seniors: Instead of hard-working and honest people, only ‘yes-saying’ sycophants were promoted in the team. This broke the morale of the capable members.

  5. Unequal Pay and Favoritism: The huge disparity in pay between members doing similar work led to dissatisfaction and mutual bitterness within the team.

  6. Lack of local understanding: People with deep understanding of grassroots politics and local issues of Bihar were not included in the decision making process.

  7. Errors in candidate selection: It is alleged that even in ticket distribution, old traditional formulas like caste, religion and money power remained effective, while the party claimed to bring ‘honest and new faces’.

  8. Failure of HR and Management: Jan Suraj’s HR team has been described as incompetent. This team completely failed in identifying the right talent and utilizing them properly.

  9. Duplication of Work: The same work was done repeatedly by many different teams, which led to lack of continuity in work and wastage of time.

“If trust is broken, defeat was certain.”

Afzal Alam claims that due to these internal flaws the workers had lost confidence in the party. He said, “If local leaders were respected, there was transparency in team management and there was continuity in work, the results today would have been different.” Afzal also told that due to these reasons he had left his job in August 2025 even before the elections.

This analysis has come at a time when questions are already being raised in political circles on Prashant Kishor’s election strategy and his party’s working style. This ‘shameful defeat’ of Jan Suraj is not only a big lesson for PK, but it is also a warning to the youth who join such big campaigns in the hope of better politics.
