Major railway accident in West Bengal, goods train collides with Kanchenjunga Express

A major railway accident has taken place in West Bengal. A freight train coming at high speed hit the Kanchenjunga Express train standing on the track from behind. So far 5 people have died in this accident. It is being told that the Kanchenjunga Express going from NJP to Sealdah met with an accident near Rangpanir station after crossing Siliguri.

In this accident, three bogies at the rear of the train have been badly damaged. It is being told that so far 5 passengers have died in this accident. According to the information received from the railway, two passenger bogies and one parcel bogie were damaged in the accident. It is being told that many people may be injured in this accident. All government and private hospitals have been put on alert at the site of the incident.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed grief over the accident and said that an unfortunate accident has happened in the NFR area. Rescue operations are going on on a war footing. Railways, NDRF and SDRF are working in close coordination. The injured are being taken to the hospital. Senior officials have reached the spot.

CM Mamata Banerjee has tweeted on this incident. Mamata has written that she is shocked to know about the tragic train accident in Phanisdeva area of ​​Darjeeling district. Although details are awaited, the Kanchenjunga Express has reportedly collided with a freight train. DM, SP, doctors, ambulances and disaster teams have been sent to the spot for rescue and medical assistance. Instructions have been given to start action on a war footing.
