
Ethiopia road accident: Sixty-six people were killed in a deadly road accident on a national highway in southern Ethiopia when a car and a bus carrying passengers collided and both vehicles fell into a canal. People launched a rescue operation and pulled the injured out of the canal, but by then 66 people had died. While four people were injured and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the incident took place at Bona Juria Warda prison in Sidama state, about 300 kilometers from Addis Ababa in southern Ethiopia. Sidama Regional Host Bureau confirmed the accident in a post on social media. Efforts are being made to pull the accident victims out of the water. It is noteworthy that road accidents are common in Ethiopia, the second most populous country in Africa.
