Mahindra is preparing to give a new update to its most popular and successful SUV, XUV700. Recently its facelift model has been seen on the streets during testing, which has revealed many interesting information related to its new design and features.

What has changed? New headlamp setup
The biggest change that has been seen in the leaked photos is in its front look, especially in the headlamp setup. The C-shaped DRLs (daytime running lights) and the main headlamps given in the current model come in different units. But in the new testing model, they have been integrated into the same big vertical unit, giving it a more modern and attractive look than before. However, the train grill and the rest of the overall design looks largely similar to the current model.

The biggest news: What will be a hybrid engine?
The biggest and exciting news that is coming out of the testing model is the possibility of getting a new hybrid powertrain in it. Hybrid technology of vehicles like Toyota Highyider and Maruti Grand Vitara has been very successful in the Indian market. In such a situation, it is believed that Mahindra can also introduce XUV700 with a hybrid option to follow stringent emission rules and give a tough competition in terms of mileage.

This will be the mid-life update of the XUV700 and is expected to launch it by next year. Operations of the current 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engine will also be continued.
