On Friday, there was a huge uproar and political drama at Eco Garden, the VIP protest site in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, when a big leader who was among the students had to face the tremendous anger of the youth. National President of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ Abhijit Deepke, who came into the national media headlines last week for demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Jantar Mantar in the country’s capital Delhi, has received a huge blow in Lucknow. Deepke had to return empty-handed without completing his speech amidst huge protest and shrill sloganeering by thousands of students protesting in Eco Garden over the results and scams of various competitive examinations.
As soon as Abhijeet Deepke arrived, the atmosphere became completely tense among the candidates who had been agitating for months regarding various teacher recruitments and several government examinations that had been canceled in recent times. The candidates directly accused him of politicizing the students’ issue and making political gains. Within no time, the uproar and protest at the protest site increased to such an extent that Abhijeet Deepke had to leave his address incomplete and leave the place.
Netaji had arrived with the Constitution book, 5000 students played
According to the information received, on Friday, thousands of candidates from dozens of districts of Uttar Pradesh gathered at Eco Garden in Lucknow for a huge protest against the stalling of various government recruitments and cancellation of examinations. Within no time a huge crowd of more than five thousand candidates gathered in this demonstration which started at 10 am. At around 1.30 pm, Cockroach Janata Party chief Abhijeet Deepke reached the students’ forum with the Constitution book in his hand. But as soon as he stepped in, the students started barricading against him.
Amidst heavy protests and shrill sloganeering, Deepke started shouting and presenting his views without any mike or stage. Deepke shouted, ‘If there had been no major movements in the history of this country, we would not have got independence today. If there had been no movement against dictatorship during the Emergency, democracy would not have survived in the country today. Fighting and agitating for rights is the greatest patriotism. Be it Lekhpal Recruitment, UPSI, NEET or CBSE, the main culprits and ministers who leaked the papers of all the examinations will have to resign from their posts immediately.
“We made the strategy 15 days ago, they don’t even know…” Students opened the front
While Abhijeet Deepke was still speaking, the students present there got angry and started raising deafening slogans like ‘Stop paper leak’ and ‘Issue UPSI score card immediately’. During this, hundreds of candidates including student leaders Nitin, Anand and Aviral Taneja, who were leading the protest, opened a front against the Cockroach Janata Party and Abhijeet Deepke. The students bluntly said, ‘This movement of ours is completely impartial and in students’ interest and has nothing to do with the Cockroach Janata Party or any other political party. Deepke has not come here to help the students, but only to show his dirty politics.
The angry candidates clearly said that they themselves had prepared the entire outline and strategy of this movement in Lucknow exactly 15 days ago, whereas Deepke, who came from Delhi, is not even aware of the ground reality of this movement. They are misusing the students’ platform only to do politics in front of the cameras and demand the resignation of the Union Education Minister. When the students’ protest became too intense and slogans were raised against them, Deepke, sensing the atmosphere, invited the candidates to come to Delhi on June 20 and immediately walked out of the Eco Garden. This stance of the students has made it clear that they will not allow any leader to take political advantage in their fight.
