As the month of June begins, a mixed update has come out regarding the prices of LPG for the general public and traders. Today, on June 2, 2026, oil marketing companies have kept the prices of domestic LPG cylinders completely stable, which has brought great relief to crores of families in the country. However, this month has brought a little trouble for businessmen, hotel-restaurant owners and small families.
Oil companies have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder and 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) i.e. ‘Chhotu’ cylinder. This step has been taken due to the ongoing fluctuations in the prices of crude oil and gas in the international market.
Latest prices of LPG cylinders in major cities of the country (2 June 2026)
For the convenience of your readers, the latest and accurate rates of major cities of the country are given in the table below:
(Note: Prices may vary slightly from state to state and city due to local taxes and transportation costs.)
Why did commercial cylinder prices increase?
Global factors are the biggest reasons behind this increase in the prices of commercial gas cylinders. At present, the global supply chain of crude oil and gas has been affected due to the ongoing geopolitical tension and conflict in West Asia (Middle East). The effect of this uncertainty is that the prices of commercial gas are continuously increasing.
The direct and biggest impact of this increase will be on hotels, restaurants, small dhabas and shopkeepers doing street food business. There are speculations that due to cost of fuel, eating out and restaurant bills may become a little more expensive.
5 kg ‘Chhotu’ cylinder also becomes expensive
Oil companies have also increased the prices of 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) i.e. ‘Chhotu’ cylinder, which is very popular among small families, students and migrant laborers, by ₹ 11. After this change, the price of a small 5 kg cylinder has now increased to ₹ 821.50 in the country’s capital Delhi. These new rates have been implemented from June 1 itself.
Big relief to the general public and domestic budget
The best thing amid this inflation is that there has been no additional burden on the home stove. By keeping the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders unchanged, the government and oil companies have saved the domestic budget from deteriorating.
