News India Live, Digital Desk: Kitchen Tips: Whether it is summer or cold, lemon is always useful to enhance taste in food and bring freshness. From Shikanji to Dal, the taste without lemon seems incomplete. But we all complain that in a few days, lemon either starts drying up or gets spoiled by turning yellow. Throwing them also feels bad due to being expensive. So if you also want your lemon to remain exactly fresh and juicy for several days, then some very easy and work home remedies have been told, which you can adopt and keep the lemon fresh for weeks or months.

Let’s know some of the best ways to fresh lemons:

  1. Dip it in water (store lemon in water):
This is a very spectacular and easy way to keep the lemon refreshing.
    • How to do: Take an airtight container or box. Put lemon in it and fill so much water that they are completely submerged in water. Now close the lid of this box and keep it in the fridge. You will see that lemon will remain fresh for 7-10 days. Just change the water once every two days so that no bacteria thrive.
  2. Aluminum foil or plastic wrapping (wrap lemon in a foil):
This method is very effective to protect the lemon from drying, because it maintains its moisture inside.
    • How to do: Wrap each lemon tightly in aluminum foil (or thin plastic film which we call a closing film or plastic rap). Then put them together in a zip lock bag or airtight container and keep it in the fridge. In such a situation, lemon can remain fresh for about a month.
  3. Use of Zip Lock Bag (Keep in Zip Lock):
It is also an effective way to protect lemon from air and moisture.
    • How to do: Keep lemon in a good quality zip lock bag. Remove as much air as possible from the bag and seal it well and keep it in the fridge. It locks the moisture inside and the lemon does not dry quickly.
  4. Submit lemon juice (gather juice):
If you want to store lemon for a very long (for several months) and only use its juice, then this method is the best.
    • How to do: Squeeze all the lemon juice. Now fill this juice in ice tray and freeze. When these cubes are formed, take them out of the tray and put them in a zip lock bag and keep them in the freezer. Whenever needed, take out one or two cubes and use it. If you want, you can also collect some zest of lemon (upper yellow part of the peel) with cubes.

By adopting these easy tricks, you can keep your lemon fresh for a long time and you can enjoy the sour lemon sour-sweet taste whenever you want.
