This festival is not only limited to worship, but it is also a symbol of our faith and rigorous practice towards nature. Important dates of Chhath Puja 2025

According to the Hindu calendar, Chhath Puja is celebrated every year on the Shashthi date of the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This festival starts from Chaturthi Tithi and runs till Saptami Tithi.

1. Nahai -Khay (first day) – 26 October 2025, Sunday:
   Chhath Puja begins with ‘Nahai-Khay’. On this day, the fasts wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. After this, they make offerings of gram lentils, pumpkin vegetables and rice. From this day, special care of sattvikta and purity is taken in the house.
2. Kharna (Second Day) – 27 October 2025, Monday:
   The second day is called ‘Kharna’. On this day, Vrati fasts throughout the day and in the evening make jaggery kheer (rasiyaav) and bread offerings. This prasad is cooked by burning mango wood on a new stove of clay. After receiving this offerings after worshiping, a hard Nirjala fast of 36 hours begins.
3. Sandhya Arghya (third day) – 28 October 2025, Tuesday:
   This is the main day of Chhath Puja. On this day, in the evening, standing in the river, pond or a clean reservoir and offer arghya to the sun. In bamboo basket, fruits, thekua and other materials of worship are decorated and offered to the Sun God. This is the only festival in which the sinking sun is worshiped, which gives us the message that the rise of what it set is also certain.
4. Usha Arghya (fourth day) – 29 October 2025, Wednesday:
   On the fourth and last day, the fasts reach the puja ghat before the sun rises in the morning and offer arghya to the rising sun. After this puja, Vrati opens his 36 -hour rigorous fast by distributing prasad. With this, Chhath Mahaparva ends.
