It is one of the most difficult fasts of Hinduism, which lasts for four days. This festival, which is mainly celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh, has now made its mark in the country and abroad. In this, the fasting women keep a hard nirjala fast of about 36 hours for the happiness and prosperity of their family and the long life of the child.

Chhath Puja 2025 Full Calendar (Chhath Puja 2025 Schedule)

In the year 2025, the four -day Mahaparva of Chhath Puja will start from 25 October and will run till 28 October.

• Beginning of Shashthi Tithi: 27 October 2025, Monday from 06:04 am.
• End of Shashthi Tithi: 28 October 2025, Tuesday at 07:59 am.

First day: Nahai-Khay (Saturday, 25 October 2025)
It is the first day of Chhath Puja, which is on Kartik Shukla Chaturthi Tithi, on this day, fasting women take satvic food after bathing in a holy river or pond. This day’s meal eaten vegetables, gram dal and arva rice especially in the meal.

Second day: Kharna (Sunday, 26 October 2025)
The second day of Chhath Puja is also called Kharna or Lohanda, which is held on Panchami Tithi, on this day, fasting fast from sunrise to sunset. After sunset in the evening, after sunset, the sun god and the sixth maiya are offered by making a prasad of jaggery kheer and roti after sunset.
