News India Live, Digital Desk: Big Preparations Before Bihar Exters: Before the upcoming elections in Bihar, the Election Commission (ECI) is engaged in a major campaign, under which the voter list is being updated. Voters have shown tremendous enthusiasm in this. The Election Commission has said that more than 80 percent of the voters in Bihar have submitted their applications to improve the voter list. The last date for submission of these applications is 25 July.
What is this campaign?
This special campaign is being run under ‘Special Summary Revision 2024’. Its main objective is to make the voter list completely accurate and imperfect, so that all qualified voters can easily use their vote.
How to apply?
Voters can submit the form by visiting their nearest polling station (polling station). Different forms have been created for different needs for this:
Special campaign and last date:
The Election Commission had also kept some special ‘special campaign dates’ for the convenience of the people. These dates were 22 and 23 June, and then 6 and 7 July, when voters could complete these works on priority basis. However, it is still till 25 July when applications can be submitted.
Next step:
The entire process aims to prepare a new and impeccable voter list by January 1, 2025. This means that people who will be 18 years old by this date will be able to join this list and will be able to vote in future assembly elections.
The Election Commission has appealed to all the people of Bihar that if they have not yet done the work of adding, removing or improving their names, then they must complete it before July 25 and become part of this democratic process.
