News India Live, Digital Desk: Krishna Paksha: According to Hindu calendar, the fast of Aja Ekadashi is kept on Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is considered extremely sacred. In the year 2025, the fast of Aja Ekadashi will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19. Ekadashi Tithi will start on 18 August 2025 at 5:22 pm and end on 19 August 2025 at 3:32 pm. Since Udaya Tithi is important in Hinduism, this fast will be kept on August 19. This fast will be passed on on 20 August 2025 after sunrise and before the end of Dwadashi date, between 5:53 am and 8:29 pm. Keeping the fast of Aja Ekadashi provides relief from sins, removes suffering and gives happiness and prosperity. It is believed that hearing or reading the story of this Ekadashi also provides spiritual benefit. On this day, worshiping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi has special significance. Devotees who observe the important rules and worship of worship Vidhikadashi should take satvic food from Dashami Tithi (one day before the fast) and should not consume tamasic food like garlic and onion. On the day of Ekadashi, one should get up in Brahma Muhurta in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. After this, while meditating on Lord Vishnu, one should resolve to fast. Devotees can keep Nirjala (without water) fast according to their ability or can consume fruit (fruit and milk). Consumption of rice, lentils and grains is completely prohibited on this day. It is also considered very auspicious to do the Bhajan-Kirtan of the Lord by awakening the night and the fast should be observed only after sunrise and only after worshiping Vishnu. Parana should not be done during Hari Vasar, which is the period of the first quarter of the Dwadashi date. Donating to Brahmins or needy attains virtue.
