News India Live, Digital Desk: Shiva’s Blessings are for Everyone: For millions of Shiva devotees in India, the Kavad Yatra is not just a journey, but a symbol of deep faith and penance. Every year in the month of Sawan, lakhs of devotees walk on foot to take Ganga water and offer it on Shivling on Shivaratri. This journey is physically challenging, the more fruitful it is spiritually. However, for some reasons not everyone is able to go on this difficult journey – whether health, lack of time or other responsibilities. But does this mean that they are deprived of Shivji’s blessings and virtue from the journey? no way! According to the scriptures and spiritual traditions, the fruits of this holy journey can be achieved even by sitting at home.

The first and important step for this is pure mind and determination. Devotees who are not able to go on the Kandar Yatra, they can offer their faith in Lord Shiva with full enthusiasm. Regret your inability in mind and ask Bholenath to stay at home and ask for the power to worship him. This journey is a symbol of renunciation and devotion, so you can clean your mind by keeping fast on these holy days.

Regular Shiva Puja is another powerful way. Wake up early in the morning and take a bath and meditate on Shiva with all your heart. Establish a Shivling (if possible) at home or in the temple and anoint it by law. You can anoint Ganga water, if it is not available, then offer pure water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugarcane juice, belpatra and other things like Belpatra and other things like cannabis, Dhatura, Shwetark flowers etc. This consecration done with full devotion is as fruitful as the water of Kavad.

Chanting of mantras will deepen your devotion. Chant Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ or other Shiva Stotras many times daily at your convenience. The power of chanting the mantra made with a calm mind is immense, and it fills the mind with spiritual energy. If possible, wear saffron or yellow clean clothes in these days, which are a symbol of sacrifice and devotion, and it brings sattvikta in the mind.

Additionally, you can also pray for other Kanwari on your journey. Their journey is successful, they reach their destination safely, and they should also be blessed by Shiva – wish like this.

Finally, the basic purpose of the Kandar Yatra is reverence and dedication to Lord Shiva. If you are not able to travel physically, then these efforts made with mental and spiritually full devotion will give you the same virtue and fruit as the journey. Shiva is hungry for emotion, and his grace is equally rained on every devotee who does devotion with true heart sitting at home.
