Knee pain is no more! These 5 yogasanas will become the best friends of your joints

Post

Rising knee pain? Climbing the stairs sounds like a mountain? Or do you respond only after walking for a while? If you are also struggling with these problems, then you are not alone. This has become a common problem of today, which is disturbing not only the old people, but also the youth.

Many people think that if there is pain in the knees, you should not do exercise or yoga, the pain does not increase further. But the truth is exactly the opposite. Some yogasan done properly can act like a ‘medicine’ for your knees.

How does yoga help?

Actually, yoga does not put a direct pressure on your knees, rather it strengthens the muscles of your thighs and feet that act as a ‘shock absorber’. When these muscles are strong, the emphasis on your knees is less and the pain gradually gets relief.

Let’s know about the 5 simple yogasanas that you can easily include in your routine.

1. Tadasana (Mountain Pose)
It is the easiest but very effective posture.

  • How to do: Stand straight, keep a short distance between the two legs. Put your body weight equal on both legs. Tighten the muscles of the thighs a little and take a deep breath and move the hands upwards. Stop for some time in this situation.
  • Benefit: This asana brings balance and stability throughout the body, which reduces the pressure on the knees.

2. Utvatasana (simple form of chair pose)
It can also be called a ‘magical chair’ that gives strength to your knees.

  • How to do: Stand straight and spread both your hands directly towards the front. Now slowly bend your knees as you are going to sit in a chair.
  • Note: Do not sit down completely, just bend as much as you can do comfortably. In this situation, stop 10-20 seconds and then get straight.
  • Benefit: It directly strengthens the quadriseps muscles of the thighs.

3. Trigonasana (Triangle Pose)

  • How to do: Stand with your feet wide. Now try to touch the right leg with your right hand and raise the left hand straight to the sky. Keep the eye on the top hand. Repeat the same process from the other side as well.
  • Benefit:This asana opens the thighs and waist muscles and brings flexibility in them.

4. Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose)

  • How to do: Lie on your back and bend the knees. Now slowly raise your waist and hips upwards, make a bridge-like shape. After stopping for a few seconds, come back down.
  • Benefit: It strengthens the muscles (hamstrings) of the hips and the back of the thighs, which support the knees.

5. Veerabhadrasana-2 (Warrior-2 Pose)

  • How to do: Stand with your legs spread. Fold one leg at 90 degrees and rotate the body on the same side. Spread both hands in the shoulders straight.
  • Benefit: This asana brings strength and stability to the legs, as well as improves the balance of the body.

Caution: Keep these things in mind

  • Do not force if the pain increases while doing any posture.
  • Initially it is best to do under the supervision of a yoga expert.
  • Be sure to consult your doctor before starting any exercise routine.

So next time you have knee pain, do not be afraid. Gradually and correctly make these yogasans a part of your life and make your couples a new strength.
