News India Live, Digital Desk: Bihar’s border district Kishanganj is on the radar of security agencies these days. This area is located very close to India-Nepal and India-Bangladesh border. Fake Aadhaar Card Has emerged as the largest center of international manufacturing syndicate. The surprising thing is that this network is not limited to Bihar only, rather its wires are connected from West Bengal to Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Recent investigation has revealed that the target of this gang are mainly infiltrators, who are being given the fake cover of Indian citizenship.
Sarpanch and Headmaster’s seal game
Layers of this black business have been exposed in the raids by police and SSB in areas like Tehgachh and Galgaliya of Kishanganj. A large number of village heads, sarpanches and school principals were arrested from the gang. Fake stamps and letterpads Have been recovered. On the basis of these fake documents, residence certificates of Bangladeshi citizens who entered India illegally were made, which were later used to make Aadhaar cards. In a recent raid, more than 400 suspicious Aadhaar cards and applications were recovered from a grocery store.
‘Seemanchal Network’ spread from Bengal to UP
According to security agencies, this is a well-organized network which is being called ‘Seemanchal Network’. Infiltrators are brought to Kishanganj from Dinajpur and Malda in West Bengal. Here their fake documents are prepared and then they are sent to states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi on the pretext of labor or domestic work. On the basis of fake Aadhar cards, these infiltrators are not only buying lands, but are also taking benefits of government schemes by opening bank accounts, which is a serious challenge for the internal security of the country.
‘Identity theft’ through Aadhaar card
The investigation also found that the gang uses the identities of people who have died or are very poor. Photographs of intruders are manipulated by manipulating the data of their fingerprints and iris scans. The SSB has recently arrested a Bangladeshi national near the India-Nepal border who was carrying a fake Aadhaar card with Kishanganj address. During interrogation, he confessed that he had got this document made for only Rs 5 to 10 thousand.
Security agencies alert: Now keeping a close eye on biometrics
After this big revelation, UIDAI and central investigating agencies have become alert. Special auditing of Aadhaar centers in Kishanganj and surrounding areas has been started. The process of blocking thousands of Aadhar cards found suspicious is underway. The district administration has given strict instructions that physical verification will be mandatory for any new Aadhar card. To close this ‘digital route’ of infiltration, both border surveillance and technology are being upgraded.
