India Has reacted strongly to the brutal murder of Bhavesh Chandra Roy, the leading Hindu community leader in Dinajpur district of Bangladesh. The Government of India has strongly condemned the incident and asked the interim government of Bangladesh to stop making excuses and stop running away from the responsibility of safety of minorities.
‘The interim government of Bangladesh should fulfill its responsibilities’
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal wrote on social media, “We are saddened by the kidnapping and brutal murder of Hindu minority leader Bhavesh Chandra Roy in Bangladesh.” The incident appears to be a part of a series of atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, while criminals of old cases are still openly roaming.
He further wrote, ‘We condemn this brutal murder and once again remind the interim government of Bangladesh to fulfill their responsibility of protecting all minorities including Hindus without any excuse or discrimination.’
Bhavesh Chandra Roy was kidnapped and murdered.
About 330 km from Dhaka. The body of Bhavesh Chandra Roy (58), a resident of Basudevpur village in Dinajpur in north-west, was found on Thursday (April 17) night. Bhavesh Chandra Roy received a call at around 4:30 pm that criminals have confirmed their presence in the house. After about 30 minutes, four people riding on two bikes came and kidnapped and killed him.
