News India Live, Digital Desk: The host team may face a big shock in the first match of the Test series being played between India and South Africa. The team’s most experienced and dangerous fast bowler Kagiso Rabada may be out of the second test match. Rabada suffered a heel injury while bowling on the third day of the first Test being played in Centurion, after which he walked out of the field and did not return to bowl again.

Now news is coming that his injury will be scanned, only after which it will be decided whether he will be able to play in the second and last Test match to be held in Cape Town or not.

How did Rabada get hurt?

The incident occurred during the third day’s play of the first Test. Rabada was bowling his 13th over when he had pain in his heel. After this, he looked a bit uncomfortable on the field itself and the team physio had to come on the field. After some brief investigation, Rabada left the field. Although he later returned to fielding, he did not bowl a single over.

Difficult to play in the second test

No official statement has come from Cricket South Africa (CSA) yet, but according to reports, the team management does not want to take any risk regarding Rabada’s injury. If the scan reveals any serious problem, they may be given rest. Rabada not playing will be a huge blow for South Africa, as he is the backbone of the team’s bowling attack. Even in the first innings of the first Test, he bowled brilliantly and took five wickets and destroyed the Indian batting order.

Who can replace Rabada?

If Kagiso Rabada is out of the second Test, it will be interesting to see who is included in his place in the team. South Africa has fast bowlers like Lungi Ngidi and Wiaan Mulder on the bench. Ngidi has experience and can trouble the Indian batsmen.

At present, the South African team and fans will be praying that Rabada’s injury is not serious and he will be fit for the Cape Town Test. The second Test match will be played at the Newlands ground in Cape Town from January 3.
