Jharkhand News: Katri river becomes time, teenagers who went to bathe from work and lost their lives

Newsindia Live, Digital Desk: A teenage laborer living in Balnawadih village of Topchanchi police station area died after drowning in the Katri river. The deceased has been identified as Jitan Bhuiyan, who was the only son of his parents. This tragic incident took place on Thursday evening when Jeetan went to bathe in the river after returning from work. Jitan Bhuiyan worked as a laborer in the construction work of a culvert on the Katri river located between Balnawadih and Ledatand. After finishing work like daily, he landed in the river to bathe in the evening. According to local people, while bathing, he went into deep water and started drowning. By the time someone could save him, he was swept away in the strong currents of water. As soon as the incident was received, his family and villagers reached the spot and started searching for him. Even after searching for a long time, when nothing was found, the matter was reported to the Topchanchi police. No clue of Jeetan could be found even after the overnight search campaign. The next day i.e. Friday morning, the villagers started investigating again and finally his body was recovered at some distance from the spot. Since this incident, there has been mourning in the family of the deceased and there is a wave of mourning throughout the village.
