MLA Mehta recently met with an accident:
Road accident: A few days ago, while coming from Madhepura to Patna, his car was hit by a tractor. The collision was so severe that the front part of the car was completely damaged.
Narrowly saved life: A major disaster was averted due to the timely opening of the car’s airbags, but in this accident, Niranjan Mehta suffered serious injuries on his legs and other body parts.
Doctors advise: Doctors had advised him complete bed rest, but considering the seriousness of the Rajya Sabha elections, he decided to come to the Assembly directly from the hospital.

Niranjan Mehta, sitting in a wheelchair, told the media after casting his vote:“Voting is my biggest responsibility. Every vote has value in a democracy. No matter what my condition, even if I had to come on a stretcher, I would have definitely come for my alliance and democracy.”

Niranjan Mehta expressed confidence of NDA’s big victory after voting:
5-0 goal: He claimed that all the five NDA candidates (Nitish Kumar, Ramnath Thakur, Nitin Naveen, Shivesh Ram and Upendra Kushwaha) will win with huge votes.
Coalition Solidarity: He said that every MLA of NDA is united like a rock and the question of any kind of cross voting does not arise.
