Bettiah: A youth involved in drug smuggling at the international level has been arrested by the police with 12.002 kg of hashish. The value of the recovered hashish is estimated to be around Rs 1.25 crore. This action was taken during the police investigation operation near Paras Pakdi Sariswa market.
According to the information, Jaiprakash Shah Kanu (29 years), resident of Ward No. 5, Bhiswa police station area of Nepal, was coming towards India with a gray colored bag. Seeing the police team deployed near Pakri Chowk-Siswa market, he started running away, after which the police and armed forces chased him and caught him.
DSP Sadar 1 Vivek Deep said that in view of the suspicious activity, the youth was interrogated and his bag was searched, in which a huge quantity of hashish was found. Investigation revealed that he was going to smuggle this drug from Nepal to India.
The police arrested the accused and completed the judicial process and sent him to judicial custody. This major success is being considered as a major police action on the international smuggling network.
