Ghaziabad, 06 September (HS). After a long time, Indirapuram was finally transferred from GDA to Municipal Corporation on Friday. For this, GDA will now have to pay Rs 185 crore to the Municipal Corporation and after that the transfer process will be completed. During the GDA board meeting in Meerut, in the presence of Divisional Commissioner and GDA President Kumari Selva JS, GDA Vice President Atul Vats and Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Malik signed the transfer letter and put the final seal. Mayor Sunita Nadyal has given her best wishes.
Now GDA will have to give 8500 square meter land for solid waste management within the next six months. Also, now there will be right to advertise within Indirapuram limits. The corporation will also have right on the income received from the community centers falling under Indirapuram limits. All maintenance charges of Indirapuram will now be payable to the corporation. Now the Municipal Corporation will also collect property tax in Indirapuram. Due to which the corporation will get annual income of around 14 crore rupees only in the tax head. Till now the Municipal Corporation used to collect only house tax from Indirapuram. Now it will be able to collect sewer and water tax as well.
According to the transfer letter, Rs 50 crore will be spent on road cleanliness, Rs 25 crore on laying new pipeline for cleaning sewer line, Rs 20 crore on laying new tube wells, laying pipeline and repairing ost. Along with this, 400 square meter land for transit station and 4500 MRF land will have to be given within 6 months for solid waste management. Rs 15 crore will be given for this. Rs 13.5 crore will be given for drains and sewers, Rs 11 crore for street lights etc. Apart from this, Rs 70 crore will be given first by GDA, apart from this, the transfer process will be considered complete only after giving Rs 40 crore by 31 December 2024, Rs 40 crore by 31 March 2025 and Rs 35 crore by 1 July.
Let us tell you that Ghaziabad Vikas Pradhikaran has developed Indirapuram Yojana on 1200 acres of land. The population of the scheme is around 4.50 lakhs. GDA started working on this scheme in 1987. Ahimsa Khand was first settled in 1994, but the boom in the scheme came in 2002 when the then GDA President/Vice President DP Singh invested Shipra Sun City as a private partner. After that the scheme became so hot that it gave Ghaziabad the status of a hot city. After declaring the scheme fully developed in 2009, in 2011 GDA started trying to transfer this scheme to the Municipal Corporation.
