News India Live, Digital Desk: India has once again extended its hand of friendship and humanitarian assistance towards the people of Afghanistan. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has gifted 5 ambulances to Afghanistan. This step is an important initiative towards strengthening health services in Afghanistan, especially at a time when Afghanistan is facing various challenges.
What is this humanitarian aid?
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar recently handed over these 5 ambulances to the representatives of Afghanistan in a program. These ambulances will play an important role in providing medical aid and improving emergency health services in remote areas of Afghanistan. This assistance is a part of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, under which India has always provided help to its neighboring countries.
Why is this gift important?
- Humanitarian Aid: Afghanistan is currently facing many humanitarian and economic crises. In such a situation, these ambulances will help in providing immediate medical aid to the people, due to which many lives can be saved.
- Bilateral Relations: Even though the political situation in Afghanistan may have changed, India remains committed to maintaining its relations with the people of Afghanistan and providing assistance to them. This meeting will further strengthen human relations between the two countries.
- Soft Power Diplomacy: India strengthens its image at the global level through such humanitarian aid programs as part of its ‘soft power’ diplomacy.
On this occasion, Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that India has always stood with the people of Afghanistan and will be ready to help them in future also. This shows that India continues its commitment to the people of Afghanistan, whatever the political situation there.
