News India Live, Digital Desk: Now another big name has been added to Hazaribagh Forest Land Scam, one of the most famous and big scams of Jharkhand, due to which the stir in the politics of the state has intensified. This time the heat of investigation has reached Hazaribagh Sadar MLA Pradeep Prasad. Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has started Preliminary Inquiry (PE) into the allegations against the MLA.

What is this whole forest land scam?

This case is related to illegal purchase and sale of forest department land worth crores of rupees located in Gonda area of Hazaribagh. It is alleged that the land mafia, along with government officials and employees, prepared fake documents of forest department land and then sold it to many influential people. This is such a scam in which even forest land was sold ignoring rules and regulations, whereas buying and selling of forest land is completely prohibited.

How did the name of MLA Pradeep Prasad come up?

When the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) was investigating this matter, the name of BJP MLA Pradeep Prasad came up. Investigation revealed that MLA Pradeep Prasad had also purchased a piece of the same disputed forest land. As soon as this information came to light, ACB, considering the seriousness of the entire matter, increased the scope of investigation against the MLA also.

ACB started preliminary investigation (PE)

ACB has registered a PE against MLA Pradeep Prasad in this case. This is the process before filing FIR in any case. During this investigation, ACB will collect all the facts and evidence to find out whether the MLA knew the reality of the land he purchased and what was his role in this entire process.

What will happen next?

After completion of preliminary investigation, ACB will submit its report to the government. Since the case is related to a sitting MLA, ACB will have to take permission from the Assembly Speaker to register a full FIR against him. Further legal action will be taken in this matter only after getting permission.

In this case, not only the MLA, but many government officials, employees and land brokers are also under the scanner of ACB. This forest land scam of Hazaribagh shows how government properties are being looted in the state with the connivance of land mafia, politicians and officials.
