News India Live, Digital Desk:The famous Green Park Stadium in Kanpur is now going to get a new identity. The Yogi government has planned to rejuvenate this historic stadium with a budget of about Rs 250 crore. Under this scheme, world -class facilities will be developed in the stadium, which will make it possible to organize big tournaments and international matches.
These major changes will be held in Green Park Stadium:
1. Increase in viewing capacity: The current viewer capacity of the Green Park Stadium is 27,400, which will be increased to 50,000. For this, old C and D balconies will be removed and new three -storey VVIP gallery and additional audience galleries will be made.
2. Development will be done in three stages: The stadium will be reconstructed in three stages. The first phase will work on drainage systems, flood lights and viewer gallery. The next two phases will focus on other modern facilities and beautification.
3. State -of -the -art drainage system: The new drainage system will dry the ground rapidly even after the rain. The field will always be playing with air systems, sub-surface anrection and vacuum-wave drainage system.
4. New VVIP Gallery: A three -storey VVIP gallery will be constructed in the C balcony area, which will have 500 VVIPs and about 15,000 spectators’ seating arrangements.
5. LED Flood Lights: State-of-the-art LED flood lights will be installed in the stadium, which will make it possible for energy saving as well as a spectacular event of night matches.
6. Development on the lines of Ekana and Narendra Modi Stadium: For the development of Green Park Stadium, the experience of architects and consultants of Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is being taken advantage of.
7. BCCI’s technical cooperation: The cooperation of the BCCI technical team is being taken to make the drainage system world class. This will develop facilities according to international standards in the stadium.
8. UPCA’s active role: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has played an important role in the development and monitoring of the stadium to maintain the quality of construction.
This rejuvenation of Green Park Stadium will strengthen the identity in the sports world of Kanpur and will be able to become the center of international sports events.
