News India Live, Digital Desk: Durga Puja 2025: In the year 2025, once again the holy festival of worship of Goddess Durga, Durga Puja is coming. This festival is celebrated with great pomp, especially in the Bengali community, and different forms of Maa Durga are worshiped for nine days. This festival of Shakti and Victory is celebrated not only Bengal, but in many parts of the country with special enthusiasm. This festival ends on the day of Dussehra i.e. Vijayadashami, which is on 2 October 2025.

Durga Puja begins with Ghatasthapana i.e. Kalash establishment, which will be on 26 September 2025, Thursday. This day is a symbol of the beginning of the nine holy days of Maa Durga.

Mahashtami and Sandhi Puja (Mahashtami & Sandhi Puja):

The day of Mahashtami is very important in Durga Puja, and it is falling on 27 September 2025, Saturday. Ashtami Tithi will begin on September 26 at 11:29 pm and it will conclude on September 28 at 01:21 am. Virgo worship and weapons are worshiped on Mahashtami.

The time between Mahashtami and Mahanavami is called “Sandhi Puja”, which is one of the most sacred and powerful moments of Durga Puja. It is formed the last 24 minutes of Ashtami and the first 24 minutes of Navami. In 2025, the time of treaty worship will be from 00:57 am to 01:45 am on September 28. During this time devotees perform special prayers and rituals.

Mahanavami (maha navami):

Navami Tithi will fall on 28 September 2025, Sunday. This date will start on September 28 at 01:21 am and will end the next day i.e. 29 September at 03:00 am. Maa Siddhidatri is worshiped on Mahanavami, which provides all the siddhis to the devotees. There is also a law of havan and girl worship on this day.

Sindoor Khela (Sindoor Khela):

Durga Puja ends with Sindoor Khela, which will be celebrated on Vijayadashami i.e. 2 October 2025, Thursday. On this day, married women apply vermilion to Maa Durga and then vermilion each other. It is a festive custom performed with a happy married life, child and prosperity.
