Speaker Prem Kumar said that the committees have been selected completely within the rules, so that transparency is maintained in the legislative process. Through these committees, MLAs will now be able to closely review various works of the government, budget allocation and schemes of public interest.

The 19 committees constituted include very influential committees like the Public Accounts Committee, Estimates Committee and Privileges Committee.
