Rawalpindi, 28 September (HS). The fear of confrontation between ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the police has increased in Rawalpindi city of Pakistan today. The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in the city ahead of the PTI rally.
According to ARY News, the Punjab government has banned all types of meetings, rallies, protests and weapon displays under Section 144 in view of the rally called on Saturday. This ban will be effective on 28th and 29th September. Along with this, Section 144 has also been imposed in Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal districts.
Meanwhile, PTI called on supporters to gather at Liaquat Bagh. Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub posted on Instagram. He said, “I request all of you to come to Liaquat Bagh in large numbers at 2 pm. We will hold a meeting, it is our legal and constitutional right.” It is noteworthy that PTI had on Tuesday sought permission from DC for a public rally in Rawalpindi on September 28.
