Exam is starting from tomorrow, do not wear jeans even by mistake. NTA has issued strict dress code and important rules:

News India Live, Digital Desk: Organized by National Testing Agency (NTA) JEE Main 2026 (Session-2) exams tomorrow, 2 April Starting from. Lakhs of students will appear in this examination for BE and B.Tech paper. To maintain the sanctity of the examination, this time NTA has issued very strict guidelines regarding ‘dress code’ and ‘entry’. If you do not follow these rules, you may be thrown out of the examination centre.

Dress code: what to wear and what not to wear?

NTA has clarified that students should come to the center wearing normal clothes only.

Ban on jeans and pockets: Do not wear heavy buttoned jeans, zipped shirts or pants that have too many pockets. Wearing simple trousers or lowers is the safest option.

Footwear rules: Wearing thick soled shoes is not allowed. Candidates have been advised to wear simple slippers or low height sandals.

Fabric structure: Clothes with big buttons, embroidered kurtas or garments that can beep in metal detectors are strictly prohibited.

Entry time and gate closing

The examination will be conducted in two shifts. Students must strictly follow the reporting time:

First shift: From 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. (Gate closing time: 8:30 am)

Second shift: From 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. (Gate closing time: 2:30 pm) Note: Entry will not be allowed under any circumstances after the gate is closed, even if the delay is due to traffic.

Must-Carry Documents

You must have the following things to enter the examination centre:

Admit Card: Clear print-out and filled in self-declaration form thereon.

Passport size photo: The same photograph which was uploaded at the time of application (to be pasted on the attendance sheet).

ID Proof: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID (original is mandatory, photocopy will not suffice).

PWD Certificate: Certificate issued by competent authority, if applicable.

Prohibited Items

It is strictly prohibited to carry mobile phone, Bluetooth, calculator, watch, purse, spectacles, handbag, any food item or water bottle (unless it is transparent) inside the examination hall. Only transparent blue or black ballpoint pens will be allowed.
