The National Seismological Center of India has confirmed this. There is no immediate information about any loss of life or property due to the earthquake. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Myanmar on 11 and 10 December.
According to the National Seismological Centre, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar this morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was at 26.07 north latitude and 97.00 east longitude. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 100 kilometers. Geologists say Myanmar is vulnerable to threats from medium and large earthquakes and tsunamis along its long coastline.
Following the 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude earthquakes that struck central Myanmar on March 28, the World Health Organization warned of a series of rapidly escalating health threats to thousands of displaced people in quake-hit areas, according to the center.
