Due to Adhikmas, Nirjala Ekadashi will not take place in May; instead, the once-in-three-years Kamala Ekadashi falls on May 27. Due to Adhikamaas, Nirjala Ekadashi will not happen in May, Kamala Ekadashi, which comes once in 3 years, is on May 27.

If you are searching for the date of the famous Nirjala Ekadashi of Jyeshtha month this year, then there is a big update for you. This time Nirjala Ekadashi is going to fall not in the month of May, but in June. According to the Hindu calendar, Adhikamas (Purushottam month) is at this time, due to which ‘Padmini’ or ‘Kamala’ Ekadashi falling in the Shukla Paksha of Adhikamas will be celebrated. This Ekadashi is considered very rare and special, because it comes only once every 3 years.

There is special mention of this Ekadashi in Padmapuran. According to mythology, Lord Shri Krishna himself has said that Ekadashi falling in Adhikamas is famous by the name ‘Kamala’ or ‘Padmini’ and it is the best among all the dates. With the effect of this fast, Goddess Lakshmi physically arrives in the lives of the devotees and poverty is removed.

Udaya date and auspicious time of Padmini Ekadashi

According to the calculations of Hindu calendar, the Ekadashi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Adhikamas will start from 5.11 am on 26th May. At the same time, this date will end the next day on May 27 at 6.22 am.

Since according to the scriptures, the fast of Ekadashi coinciding with Dashami Tithi is not observed, hence the fast of Kamala (Padmini) Ekadashi is observed on the basis of recognition of Udaya Tithi. 27th May Will be kept. However, devotees will have to start following the strict rules and restraint of fasting from May 26 itself.

Great coincidence of Maa Lakshmi and Tulsi puja with Lord Shri Hari

Since Adhikamas is considered to be the month of Lord Purushottam (Sri Hari), worshiping Lord Vishnu along with Mother Lakshmi on this day gives infinite results. Worship of Tulsi ji and donation of lamp has special significance on this day. According to the verse of Padmapuran, the person who offers Tulsi leaves and flowers to Janardan (Lord Vishnu) on this day, his sins of many births are destroyed.

It is said in the scriptures that by lighting a lamp near Tulsi on this day, one gets lakhs of times the virtuous results and by donating a lamp near Lord Vishnu, one gets infinite times the virtuous results. This satvik worship of Tulsi takes the seeker directly closer to Sri Hari.
