Bihar weather today: November has arrived in Bihar and with it the weather has also changed. The mild cold of the morning and the shiver of the evening have now started indicating that the pink cold season has arrived. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that there will be dense fog in the coming days, due to which in the morning the roads may appear wrapped in a white sheet of fog and the visibility may reduce to 200 meters.

Strong westerly winds will increase the coolness

Monday morning started with fog and cold winds in the capital Patna. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of westerly wind is going to increase. These icy winds blowing from the north-west direction at a speed of about 30 kilometers per hour will increase the cold further.

Although the sun is shining during the day, but now that heat is no longer there. The night temperature is continuously falling, which is currently around 20 degrees and is likely to drop further in the next 48 hours.

It is not just fog, the increasing air pollution with it has become a major concern. The air of big cities of the state is getting worse.

  • In cities like Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Purnia and Bhagalpur, the AQI level has reached between 136 to 228, which is extremely harmful for health.
  • Experts have advised that in this dangerous combination of fog and pollution, children and elderly people should avoid going out in the morning, as it can increase respiratory problems.

The Meteorological Department has made it clear that there is no possibility of rain in Bihar for the next 10 days. The weather will remain dry, but cold winds will continue to blow. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 18 to 22 degrees and the maximum temperature is expected to be between 26 to 30 degrees Celsius.

According to senior scientist Ashish Kumar, even though the temperature remains slightly above average this month, the feeling of cold will remain strong and the mercury will gradually continue to fall.

What to do and what not to do

  • Avoid leaving the house early in the morning and late at night.
  • Start wearing warm clothes.
  • Use fog lights while driving and keep the speed slow.
  • People with respiratory problems and the elderly should avoid going for morning walks.

Overall, winter has started in Bihar and it will deepen further in the coming days. There is every possibility of severe cold till December.
