News India Live, Digital Desk: The weather of Uttar Pradesh has now started changing its mood. Even though light sunshine is providing relief during the day, the pink cold of morning and evening has made one feel that winter is standing at the door. The Meteorological Department says that the mercury will fall further in the coming days, which will increase the coldness. But with this changing weather has also come a big concern – the air becoming poisonous. Most of the big cities of the state are wrapped in a blanket of smog and pollution, due to which people’s breathing is in danger. Shivering has started increasing, temperature is falling. The weather in UP has remained dry since the departure of monsoon. There is no possibility of rain in sight. While the maximum temperature in most of the cities of the state remains around 30 to 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature has dropped to 18 to 21 degrees Celsius. This is the reason why people have started feeling slight shivering at night and in the morning. Meteorologists predict that the effect of snowfall in the mountains will soon be visible on the plains and the temperature will drop more rapidly. Pollution has reached dangerous levels. On one hand the cold is increasing and on the other hand the air quality (AQI) has become very bad. On Tuesday, cities like Kanpur, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut including the capital Lucknow were among the most polluted cities of the country. In many areas of Lucknow, AQI level crossed 300 and was recorded in ‘very poor’ category, which is extremely dangerous for health. Experts believe that due to reduced wind speed and increased humidity, pollutants have accumulated close to the ground, creating a smog-like situation. This poisonous air can prove fatal especially for children, elderly people and respiratory patients. What did the Meteorological Department say? According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather will remain dry for a few days. There will be relief during the day due to clear sky and sunshine, but the nights will become colder. Due to the effect of La Nina this year, there is also a possibility of severe winter. Be careful about your health. It is very important to take care of your health amidst this double whammy – i.e. increasing cold and bad air. Especially avoid going out in the morning. If you leave the house, wear a good quality mask. Asthma or heart patients should take special care. Consume warm things and take care of your diet.
