It is believed that on these days, Tulsi Mata observes a waterless fast for Lord Vishnu. In such a situation, their fast is broken by offering water. Even basil leaves should not be plucked during these two days.
3. Keeping Tulsi plant in the wrong direction

According to Vastu Shastra, the Tulsi plant should never be kept in the south direction of the house, this direction is considered to be of ancestors and keeping Tulsi here can cause financial loss. It is always auspicious to plant the Tulsi plant in the north or north-east direction of the house.
4. Plucking leaves after sunset
If you need basil leaves for any work, then always pluck them during the day time. Plucking basil leaves after sunset is considered inauspicious. Also, the leaves should never be plucked by pulling them with nails, rather fingers should be used.
5. Keeping dirt near Tulsi
Cleanliness should always be maintained around the Tulsi plant. Broom, dustbin, shoes, slippers or any kind of dirt should never be kept near it. Doing so brings negative energy into the house. Light a ghee lamp near Tulsi in the evening, it brings happiness and prosperity in the house.
