This incident occurred when the people of the Indian community gathered peacefully to hoist the tricolor outside the Melbourne Complex. The protesters carrying Khalistani flags reached the venue and started raising anti -India slogans, and also tried to insult the Indian flag. In response, the people of the Indian community present there confronted them by singing patriotic songs and raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, causing the sound of slogans of Khalistanis, there was a fierce tip and scuffle between the groups, after which the Australian police present on the spot had to intervene and control the situation and the Indian community stopped the situation, the Indian community stopped. The flag hoisting ceremony took place with enthusiasm and patriotism. The incident occurred amidst the increase in Khalistani activities in Australia and the increasing concerns of targeting the Indian community. A few weeks ago, hatred slogans were written on the walls of a Hindu temple in Melbourne, which was strongly condemned. The Government of India has earlier urged countries like Canada, Britain and Australia not to place Khalistani extremists on their land.
